Boxes and storage bins
Years of packed boxes, holiday decorations and plastic totes, including the ones that went soft after a damp spring.
Old furniture and mattresses
Spare sofas, guest beds and bookcases that were moved downstairs when the upstairs was redone.
Exercise equipment
Treadmills, ellipticals, weight benches and plate sets, which are among the heaviest things to bring up a basement stair.

Broken power tools, rusted hand tools and homemade workbenches. Metal is separated for recycling.
Bikes, toys and sports gear
Outgrown bikes, hockey bags, strollers and play sets that crowd the garage wall.
Yard and garden clutter
Old fencing, hose reels, broken lawn furniture and the planters that pile up in a shed.
Electronics
Old TVs, monitors, computers and stereos, separated from the load as electronic waste.
Flood-damaged contents
Wet carpet, swollen particleboard and ruined boxes after a basement takes on water.

What basement and garage cleanouts costs
Cleanouts are priced by how much of the truck the load fills. A standard full load holds roughly the contents of a single-car garage, about six pickup loads, so a packed garage is a good mental yardstick. Larger basements can run past one load, and each additional load is priced on the same published scale.
| A shed or a corner of the garage | $175 to $325Typical where the load fills an eighth to three eighths of the truck. |
|---|---|
| Half-full garage or storage room | $325 to $475Usually three eighths to five eighths of a load, depending on how densely things are packed. |
| Finished basement with furniture and boxes | $550 to $700Usually three quarters to a full load. Narrow stairs add crew time, not a separate fee. |
| Single-car garage, wall to wall | $700A garage packed to the door is roughly one full truck load. |

What customers say
Basement and Garage Cleanouts in Toronto homes
Toronto basements fill quietly. A spare room becomes storage, storage becomes a path between boxes, and after a decade nobody can reach the furnace filter. In older houses across York, East York and the Junction, the only way out is a steep stair with a low header at the bottom, which is why clearing a basement alone takes a month of weekends and a crew takes an afternoon.
Garages tell a different story. Detached garages on laneways in the old city and attached ones in Scarborough and North York both collect the same mix: broken furniture along the back wall, old fencing, tools, bikes and yard waste. Most of them clear in one to two hours, and laneway access is routine for us.
Spring is the busiest time for this work, when people open up the garage after winter and find it full. Late summer is close behind. After a flood, timing matters more, because wet carpet and boxes start to smell within days. Tell us that when you book, and the crew can plan for wet, heavy material rather than a dry load.
Frequently asked questions
A full basement usually takes two to four hours with two crew members. A narrow or turning stairwell pushes it toward the longer end. A garage or a single storage room is usually one to two hours. Whole houses are booked separately as a longer visit with a larger crew.
A standard load holds roughly the contents of a single-car garage, or about six pickup truck loads. Most single-room cleanouts fill well under that. A packed basement in a larger house can run past one load, and each additional load is priced on the same published scale.
No. Mark what is staying, with tape or a note, and point it out when the crew arrives. Everything else is loaded. We pull metal, electronics and usable furniture out for recycling or donation ourselves, so you do not need separate piles.
No. Paint, solvents, motor oil, fuel, propane tanks and car batteries cannot go on the truck. They need a municipal household hazardous waste depot. Set them aside before the crew arrives and we will tell you where the nearest drop-off is, so the rest of the garage can still go.
Yes. Wet carpet, underpad, swollen furniture and soaked boxes are all taken. Wet material is heavier and fills the truck differently, so tell us about the water when you book. If your insurer needs a record of what was removed, take photos before the crew starts.
If you want to sort slowly over a week or two, a roll-off bin on the driveway lets you load at your own pace. If you want it gone in one afternoon without lifting anything, a crew is the better fit. We offer both and will tell you which suits the load.
