Signs it is time to call
Mulch loses colour and breaks down through a season. A fresh two-inch layer in spring holds moisture and keeps weeds down.
Thin or compacted ground needs screened triple mix rather than more seed. Two inches worked in changes the result.
Twenty bags of mulch is roughly one yard. Anything past a small bed is cheaper and faster tipped loose.
Crushed stone and limestone screenings form the base under interlock and asphalt, and the depth decides how long it lasts.
River rock in a channel or dry creek bed moves runoff away from a foundation without digging in a drain.
Crews working several jobs a week order standing deliveries rather than sending someone to a yard each morning.

How a job runs
1
Tell us the product and the volume
Give us bed measurements or square footage and we convert it to yards, so the order is not a guess.
2
Pick a delivery day
Deliveries run seven days a week. You get a window, and you need not be on site if the tip spot is clear.
3
We tip it where you want it
The driver places the pile on the driveway, at the kerb, or in the back where access allows, so it is not moved twice.

What moves your number
Tick anything that applies. These are the things that change a quote, so knowing them up front is what lets us price the job over the phone.
Nothing ticked. A straightforward job is priced on volume alone.
How many yards do you need?
Measure the bed or the area in feet, pick a depth, and this works out the volume. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Why people book our materials delivery
Tipped where you want it
Driveway, kerb or backyard where access allows, so material is not moved twice.
Sold by the yard
Loose volume rather than bagged, which is cheaper past a single small bed.
Fresh season stock
Mulch is turned over through the season rather than held from last year.
Contractor volumes
Standing deliveries across several sites are arranged at the start of a season.
Seven days a week
Weekend deliveries suit crews working Saturdays and homeowners doing the same.
Local and seasonal factors
The return leg is what makes this work. A truck taking a load to the transfer station would otherwise drive back empty, so material coming in fills a trip that was already being made. That is a real cost difference rather than a marketing line.
The season is short. Mulch and soil move hardest from April to June, aggregate follows through the summer as driveways and patios go in, and everything slows once the ground freezes. Ordering a week ahead in spring is worth doing.
Common questions
Who delivers mulch in Toronto?
Junk Alert delivers bark mulch by the yard across Toronto and the GTA, tipped on the driveway or carried through to a backyard where access allows. Pine, cedar and black mulch are stocked through the season, from $70 per cubic yard. Deliveries run seven days a week from 7am.
How many yards of mulch do I need?
One yard covers about 160 square feet at a two-inch depth, which is the usual depth for garden beds. Measure the length and width of each bed, multiply them, and divide the total by 160. Give us the measurements and we will confirm the number.
What is the difference between topsoil and triple mix?
Screened topsoil is soil alone and suits levelling or filling. Triple mix blends soil with compost and peat, so it holds moisture and feeds new growth. Triple mix is the better choice for new lawns and raised beds, topsoil for grading work.
Can you deliver gravel for a driveway base in the GTA?
Yes. Crushed stone, road base and limestone screenings are delivered by the yard across Toronto and the surrounding regions. Screenings compact into the level base under interlock and patio stone, while coarser crushed stone suits driveway sub-base and drainage runs.
Frequently asked questions
About 160 square feet at a two-inch depth, which is the standard for garden beds. At three inches it covers roughly 110 square feet. Measure your beds and we will convert the total to yards, so you are not ordering from a guess.
Wherever access allows. Most deliveries go on the driveway, which keeps the wheelbarrow run short. Backyard tips are possible where there is a wide enough gate and firm ground to drive on. Tell us the spot when you order so the truck arrives ready.
No, provided the tip spot is clear and marked. Many customers leave a note or a photo showing where they want the pile. The driver calls if anything on site looks different from what was described, rather than tipping in the wrong place.
Yes, 1 cubic yard. Above that, material is sold in half-yard steps. Everything is delivered, and customer pickup from the yard is not available. For less than a yard, bagged product from a garden centre is usually the more sensible option.
Yes. Crews running several sites a week order standing deliveries scheduled at the start of the season, which avoids sending someone to a yard each morning. Volumes, products and delivery days are set in advance and adjusted as the work changes.
Natural bark mulch fades over a single season as it weathers and breaks down, which is why most beds get topped up each spring. Coloured mulch holds its tone longer, generally into a second year. Both keep suppressing weeds as they break down.
