Junk Removal, Bin Rentals and Material Delivery

Junk Alert runs junk removal, roll-off bin rental and material delivery across Toronto and the GTA from one yard on Weston Road in York. Open seven days a week from 7am.

How it works

One yard, three kinds of work

Most people arrive here with one of three problems. Something has to leave the property, something has to arrive at it, or a renovation is producing waste faster than the city will collect it. Those are genuinely different jobs, and putting them on one page would serve none of them well.

The distinction that matters most is who does the lifting. If you want the work done for you, that is junk removal: a crew arrives, carries everything out from wherever it sits, and takes it away the same visit. If you would rather load at your own pace, that is a bin.

We load it

A crew carries everything out and hauls it away in a single visit.

You load it

A roll-off bin on your drive, filled at whatever pace suits the job.

We deliver it

Mulch, soil, gravel and stone tipped where you want them, by the yard.

Prices published

Load, bin and per-yard rates are on the pricing page before you call.

Why the three run off the same trucks

The third line runs the trucks in the opposite direction. A vehicle heading to the transfer station with a load would otherwise return empty, so it comes back carrying mulch, screened soil, aggregate or decorative stone instead. That is an operational advantage rather than a marketing line.

Every rate is published, and your job is confirmed before it is booked, so you have the number before a truck is dispatched or a bin leaves the yard. Photos of the load and the driveway usually remove any need for a site visit first.

The three service lines

  • Junk Removal in Toronto. Two of us arrive and carry everything out from wherever it sits, whether that is a basement, an attic or a third-floor walk-up. Nothing has to reach the curb first. The space is swept before we leave, and metal, electronics and usable furniture are separated out before the rest is disposed of.
  • Bin Rental in Toronto. A roll-off bin dropped where you want it and collected on the date agreed at drop-off. Bins suit renovations running across several days, heavy material like soil and concrete, and any clearance you would rather do an hour at a time. Sizes run from four to twenty-two yards.
  • Materials Delivery in Toronto. Bark mulch, screened topsoil and triple mix, crushed stone and aggregate, and decorative river rock, all sold by the yard and tipped where you want them. Contractor volumes are arranged as standing deliveries at the start of a season rather than ordered week by week.

Choosing a bin size

Pick by the volume of what is going, not by the size of the project. If you are between two sizes, the larger bin is almost always cheaper than paying for a second haul.

What is the job? Pick one to see which sizes suit it.
  • 4 yardAbout 1 pickup load

    Heavy material

Concrete, soil, brick and tile, where weight fills the bin long before volume does.

  • 5 yardAbout 2 pickup loads

    Larger heavy loads

Dirt, concrete, brick and asphalt beyond what a 4 yard holds. Heavy material only goes in 4 and 5 yard bins.

  • 10 yardAbout 3 pickup loads

    Single rooms

The starting size for a one-room renovation, a bathroom strip-out or a garage clearout.

  • 14 yardAbout 4 pickup loads

    Kitchens and bathrooms

The usual choice for a mid-size renovation or a full basement clearout.

  • 16 yardAbout 5 pickup loads

    Multi-room work

A kitchen plus flooring, or two rooms stripped back in the same week.

  • 20 yardAbout 6 pickup loads
20 yard roll-off bin with dimensions

    Whole-floor projects

Roofing tear-offs, large estate clearances, and deck or fence removals.

  • 22 yardAbout 7 pickup loads

    Construction and demolition

New builds, gut jobs and sites producing bulky, lightweight waste.

Driveway space needed is roughly the bin length plus ten feet, so the truck can tilt and load. Not sure it will fit? Send a photo of the driveway and we will tell you before you book.

What goes on the truck

  • Furniture, mattresses and box springs
  • Fridges, stoves, washers and dryers
  • Televisions, computers and other electronic waste
  • Drywall, lumber, tile and flooring
  • Scrap metal and old fencing
  • Yard waste, branches and sod
  • Hot tubs, sheds and play structures
  • Boxes, bags and general household clutter

What cannot go on the truck

  • Paint, solvents and other liquid chemicals
  • Motor oil, fuel and propane tanks
  • Asbestos and suspected asbestos material
  • Car and marine batteries
  • Medical or biological waste
  • Ammunition, flares and explosives

These need a licensed hazardous waste depot. Call anyway and we will point you to the nearest municipal drop-off that takes them, so the rest of the load can still go on the truck.

Why us

Why people call us back

What customers raise unprompted on the Google profile is consistent enough to be worth stating plainly, because the things they praise are the parts of this trade that most often go wrong elsewhere. Three themes come up again and again, and all three are worth reading in their own words.

The first is that the price holds. Rates are published, every bin option states its weight allowance up front, and Flat Rate garbage loads carry no standard excess-weight charge. You know the number before anything is loaded.

  • 16Municipalities on the regular route
  • 3Service lines run from one yard
  • 7 daysOpen every day from 7am to 5pm

The second reason is that the bin actually leaves. Collection happens on the date agreed at drop-off, not whenever a truck happens to be free. Nobody should have to phone three times over a fortnight to get their own driveway back, and that is the failure this trade is best known for.

The third is that awkward access is treated as normal work rather than as a surprise. Narrow semis, mutual drives shared between two houses, rear laneways and third-floor walk-ups are the everyday job here, and none of them is a reason to reprice on arrival.

We come back for the bin

Pickup happens on the day agreed at drop-off, not whenever a truck is free.

Tight spots are normal

Narrow driveways, shared drives, laneways and awkward placements are the everyday job.

Locally owned

Calls reach the people who run the trucks, not a national booking centre.

Sorted before disposal

Metal, electronics and usable furniture come off the truck for recycling or donation.

How a job runs

1

Tell us what is going

Call, or text a couple of photos. We size the job from that and give you the price before anyone is dispatched.

2

Pick a window

You get a two-hour arrival window and a call when the truck is close. Bookings run seven days a week from 7am.

3

We clear it

The crew loads from wherever the items sit, protects doorways and floors on the way out, and sweeps up after.

4

It gets sorted

Metal, electronics and usable furniture are separated for recycling or donation before the rest goes to a transfer station.

Four steps, and you only need to be present for one of them. The same sequence covers a single mattress and a whole-property clearance.

What we need from you

Photos of the load and of the driveway, and an address. That is normally enough to size and price a job without a site visit. For a bin, mark the spot you want it and tell us about overhead wires, low branches or a shared drive. For material, bed measurements are better than a guess at yardage.

What happens on the day

The crew calls when the truck is close rather than arriving unannounced. On a removal they walk the property with you first, so what stays and what goes is agreed before anything moves. On a bin drop the driver checks the tilt room, sets boards under the bin if asked, and confirms the collection date before leaving.

If the job turns out bigger

It happens, usually when a basement holds more than it looked like from the stairs. The crew stops and tells you what the difference is before carrying on, rather than presenting a larger number at the end. You decide whether to clear the extra now or book a second visit.

Photos speed everything upA picture of the pile and the driveway usually removes the need for a site visit.
Access beats volumeStair runs, gate widths and tilt room decide more quotes than the size of the load.
One size up beats two haulsA second drop, collection and disposal run costs more than the next bin size.

Where we work

Based on Weston Road in York, running across the city and out into the surrounding regions daily. Sixteen municipalities are on the regular route, covering the City of Toronto, York Region, Peel, Halton and Durham.

Outside this list? Call anyway. We often travel further for larger jobs, and the drive is quoted with everything else rather than added afterwards.

Common questions

What does Junk Alert do?

Junk Alert provides three services from one yard on Weston Road in York. They are junk removal where a crew loads and hauls, roll-off bin rental from four to twenty-two yards, and delivery of mulch, topsoil, gravel and decorative stone by the yard. All three cover Toronto and the GTA.

Should I book a junk removal crew or rent a bin?

Book a crew when you want the work done for you in a single visit, or when items are heavy and awkward to carry. Rent a bin when the job runs over several days, when you would rather load gradually, or when the material is dense like soil and concrete.

What areas does Junk Alert cover?

Sixteen municipalities across the Greater Toronto Area, including Toronto, North York, Etobicoke, Scarborough, York and East York, plus Vaughan, Woodbridge, Markham, Richmond Hill, Newmarket, Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Pickering and Ajax. Larger jobs further out are quoted on request.

What are Junk Alert's hours?

Seven days a week, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, including weekends and the early morning window when most trades start. The yard is at 1575 Weston Road in York, and bookings for all three service lines run on the same schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Not for junk removal, which is priced by how much of the truck the load fills. For bins it depends on the option you pick. Volume Based and Weight Based Pricing include a stated weight allowance, with $130 per metric tonne above it, prorated. Flat Rate Based Pricing covers eligible garbage loads with no standard excess-weight charge.

It depends on the day and the area. Jobs close to the Weston Road yard can often be fitted in at short notice, while the outer regions and the spring rush need more warning. A day or two covers most single-room work comfortably.

For a junk removal job, only at the start, so you can point out what is going and what is staying. For a bin drop or a material delivery, not at all, provided the placement is clear and marked. The driver calls if anything looks different on site.

Metal, electronics and usable furniture are separated for recycling or donation. The remainder goes to a licensed transfer station. Hazardous items are not accepted at all, and we will tell you which municipal depot takes them instead.

Yes. One mattress, one fridge or one treadmill is a normal booking and gets the same arrival window as a full clearance. Single items and small pickups within 10 km start at $80, depending on the item and the location.

Yes. Renovation debris is loaded straight off site so trades keep working, and commercial clearances can be scheduled outside business hours. Landscaping crews arrange standing material deliveries at the start of a season rather than ordering week to week.

Take the larger one. A second haul means a second drop, a second collection and a second disposal run, which costs more than the gap between two sizes. If the driveway will not take the larger bin, we will say so before booking.

Usually, yes, and photos make it faster. A picture of the pile and one of the driveway is normally enough to size a job and quote it without a site visit. Most rates are also on the pricing page, and you get the number before anything is dispatched.
